Love is Blind became a successful installation of feelings about being disabled. A dissertation on the ghettoizing of disabled people may be read by Braille or print while a short sound piece entertains the ear with Etta James wailing “I’d Rather Be Blind” and the Car Talk guys telling blind jokes. A book of crumpled paper beckons. A mysterious magenta cord yields illumination to the layers of gray haze. The environment is bleak, the battle cry clear -- STAY AWARE. GET ANGRY!

This piece was reviewed by The City Voice in their June 2-8 issue, 1995.
