The idea behind this piece is a sort of modern variation of a Tibetan prayer wheel. You can simply flip on the switch and the neon hands will pray for you as long as you like in a completely non-denominational and effortless manner. The chalk marks may relate to the forty-nine days in which a deceased individual may remain in an intermediate state, bardo, between death and rebirth, during which ceremonies should be performed to help the deceased toward a better rebirth, but also to any counting off of obligations on a list, as if that's all there is.

In memory of Thomas "Bucky" Buchanan.
