The image depicts a large wooden box with a glass beaker, the sort one might use in a medical or chemical experiment, laid on its side on a small pedestal inside. The beaker contains the exploded fragments of a light bulb and is lit from behind. There is a burlap curtain fixed to the top edge of the box, as if one might draw it down to hide the contents. On the bottom edge of the box is a brass plate with the words “Progressive Idea” engraved on it.
