The image depicts the piece shortly after its installation in San Francisco's City Hall. The black and white image shows what looks like a very old school desk with writing surface upraised. The desk is supported from below by two brackets made from two large crowbars cut and welded into right-angles. Within the box, we see a glass surface supported and lit by five candelabra bulbs from below. Atop the glass, and scattered on the floor beneath, are children's wooden blocks without lettering or symbols, just plain wood. The edge of the desk is slightly above eye level and the light source is powered by five electrical cords, or more properly barbed wire, which continue down to a powerstrip mounted on the custom base.
